Monthly Tips
June 2025
TIP 1 Real ID Scams
Summer is just about here, and as more travel plans are being made more people may be realizing that they need to meet the new Real ID requirements as quickly as possible. That has led to a rise in Real ID scams too, both through links impersonating real businesses and then phishing for information or even charging for a service online without providing anything. The Better Business Bureau has some added guidance and tips they released ahead of the deadline here. The biggest tip may be to not trust online sources and go to a DMV in person. Every year the scammers add a few new tricks to their repertoire, so one must continue to be as vigilant as possible. TIP 2 Father’s Day Is Coming Up
Father’s Day is coming up, and here’s a bit a trivia to share – Jeff Goldblum became a father late in life, at the age of 62, when many are starting to consider retirement, and then became a father again a couple years later. Perhaps, as he stated much earlier in life in his role in the movie Jurassic Park: “Life finds a way”. Whether you are planning to cherish your father with one of the more popular Father’s Day gifts such as a tie or spend some time together and ask to share some stories, we hope you have a wonderful and safe celebration.

TIP 4 Brain Awareness Month Is Almost Over
Did you know that June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month? Although we may not know for certain that puzzles and brain games provide exercise that will keep our brains a little healthier for a little longer, they certainly don’t hurt. One of our new favorites in lateral thinking is called The Daily Burgle, and the idea is to think of movies that match words in the plot summary from the listed nine (or more in the XL puzzle version). Not all plot points are in each plot summary, which can cause frustration, but overall, a nice addition to the daily mental exercises.
